What LawyerPricing is
LawyerPricing is a directory. It lists lawyers and shows the prices they advertise. It isn't a law firm, it doesn't provide legal services or legal advice, and using it doesn't create an attorney-client relationship between you and any lawyer or between you and us.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, including analytics and cookies.
How listings are sorted
Listings load in order of advertised price, lowest first, and you can re-sort them. No listing can pay to change where it appears. Paid features, when offered, change how a listing looks and never where it sits.
What a price means
A price marked "advertised" was taken from the firm's public website on the date shown. It may be out of date and it may not cover your matter. Confirm the price and the scope with the lawyer before you rely on it. A price on a claimed listing was confirmed by the firm on the date shown.
Claimed listings
"Claimed by firm" means the firm claimed its listing and we checked its license on the ARDC (the Illinois lawyer regulator) on the date shown. The firm stands behind the prices it confirmed. The badge isn't an endorsement or a rating of the lawyer's work.
Reporting a listing
Removal requests take effect as soon as you confirm your email. Price corrections confirmed from the firm's own email domain take effect right away; other price reports are reviewed, usually within 2 business days.
Contacting a firm
On a claimed listing, the "Contact this firm" button takes you to the place the firm chose for client inquiries: its own contact page, phone number or email. What you send goes to the firm, not to us. Unclaimed listings show plain-text details only, and we don't pass your inquiry to them.
Ads and ownership disclosure
Some results pages show an ad, labelled "Ad" and "Not a law firm", for a service that isn't a law firm. DispuPoint, a flat-fee document preparation service, is one of them. DispuPoint is owned by Gaston Sitbon, the founder and a co-owner of LawyerPricing. We label it "Ad" wherever it appears, and it never affects the order of law firms. DispuPoint isn't a law firm and doesn't give legal advice.
No warranty and limits
The directory is provided as is. We don't guarantee that any price, license status, or other detail is accurate or current. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for decisions you make based on what you read here.
For lawyers who claim a listing
By claiming a listing you confirm that you're authorized to act for the firm, that your license is active, and that the prices you publish are accurate and current. You can correct or remove your prices at any time.
When you claim a listing, you can download a signed letter from LawyerPricing describing how the directory operates under the professional conduct rules of your state. The letter reflects our practices on the date it's generated. If those practices change in a way that affects it, we'll update the letter and let claimed firms know.
We keep a dated copy of each web page where we found a price. We may show a firm the copy of its own page, and we use these copies to review disputes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.
